Quick hike out to Cascade Head, one of my favorite coastal hikes. Lower trails are still very muddy, but the hill side paths are nice. Saw lots of little garter snake along the trail, but mostly it was just great views!
This was on a surprisingly sunny day fall of 2015. This hike is is at Cascade Head, which is part of The Nature Conservancy. According to their website:
The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.
The landscape and views at Cascade Head are truly wonderful; you can get up so high you can start to see the earth curve (or at least the wide-angle of my camera can). It is so awesome that The Nature Conservancy is protecting it and is able to make it open for public use!
Check out the website for The Nature Conservancy to learn about places to hike, what you can do for the environment, or how to donate time and money.
Also check out my post about Hart’s Cove, which is in the same area as Cascade Head.
